Founded by Mr. Nate Goodson in March 2022, The Promise Center is a non-profit organization headquartered in Homewood. Drawing from personal experiences and an acute understanding of the complex dynamics of street life, Mr. Goodson has embraced the challenge of establishing businesses dedicated to fostering stability in families and communities through robust capacity-building initiatives.
The Challenge
At the Promise Center of Homewood, we face challenges like limited resources, funding gaps, and the growing demand for services, as we strive to make a meaningful difference in the lives of local youth.
Our Work
We have initiatives ranging from Steam program with CMU (twice a week), Arts and crafts, and a healthy eating programs such as the African American Nutritional Program. Our focus is youth, healthcare, and community stability.
Our Impact
We've helped to serve over 2000 lives in this community over the years through our programming and events.
How You Can Help
Donate
Donate support with generating funds for the following basic necessities and supplies, programs and activity funding, staffing and training, mental health and counseling resources, community and family support, and outreach and awareness.
Fundraise
Fundraising efforts such as community events, holiday and seasonal campaigns, skill based workshops and classes.
Volunteer
Promise Center volunteer needs are, mentors and role models, activity and program leaders, event planners and cordinators, outreach and community engagement volunteers, counselors and mental health support.
